Rev. Alan McCalister

I enjoy helping people connect with God’s presence in life!  That is why I serve as Campus Minister and Executive Director of UCM.  My years in college were spent seeking to understand and experience God in a way that could make my faith come alive!  A living faith – one that gives purpose to my life and direction for my living – is what I have found in Jesus Christ.  My gift to others is simply to share what I have discovered, and to encourage and assist them in their own faith journey.  If a living faith that transforms, re-forms and informs your life is something of interest to you, then come to UCM.  It is never too late to start the journey!

Before coming to UCM, I spent many years working as a computer technician and serving congregations as an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).  I play soccer, have a passion for music and movies, and like to tell really corny jokes!  However, I am not joking when I say that I am deeply honored to serve with the students whose faith, heart-felt commitment, and hard work are the heart of this ministry.  I love the feeling of family – of community – at UCM.  I am moved by the deep caring and commitment of the students who follow and serve Jesus Christ.  I hope you will come to UCM and let them touch your heart with the love they share in Jesus Christ!

Chelsey Bermudez

Hello everyone! My name is Chelsey Bermudez and I am Lunch Bunch Coordinator & UCM Administrative Assistant for the 2016-2017 school year. I am from MKE born and raised. I hope to some day move out of the state and gain more experiences outside of the city. I am a senior this year majoring in Occupational Studies with a minor in Psychology and a certificate in Therapeutic Recreation. My goal is to be able to work with individuals with disabilities of all kinds through Recreational Therapy. When I’m not working or in class I enjoy playing piano, producing music, and DJ’ing. I also enjoy playing playing piano for the worship team in my Bible Study (RUF). Music is my passion, as well as serving the community. I look forward to planning some awesome service events for UCM this year!

cherise

Cherise Cerocke

Hello, my name is Cherise and this is my first semester on campus at UWM. I am a transfer student from Illinois majoring in architecture. Architecture truly is my passion! Ever since I was a child, I had an interest in buildings. I can remember spending hours drawing floor plans, and perhaps more time than I would like to admit playing sims and designing virtual homes. In high school my family built a home, and I was able to help out in all the different construction realms along the way. For me it was exciting to see a dream become a physical reality! Thus, in my college years I partnered with Habitat for Humanity and have been able to be a part of blessing others and essentially “building” their dreams. Throughout my involvement with Habitat for Humanity, it has become clear to me that there are so many ways in which I can use my architectural desires, talents, and gifts in a practical way to serve others, and ultimately to serve God. I am very blessed not only to be at UWM pursuing my dream, but I am also extremely blessed to be a part of UCM pursuing my faith. This coming year I look forward to gaining close friendships with my UCM family and to meeting and building friendships with other UWM students. I look forward to being refreshed and renewed in my spiritual journey, and I look forward to exploring new opportunities and avenues in which I can be an encouragement and blessing to others.
