Bible Basics Program

Bible Basics Program

Many university students have little or no knowledge of the Bible. They are curious about the book that has instructed and inspired people through the centuries. They may remember some passages from years past, but they have no understanding of how these passages come together and help people find faith in God.

University Christian Ministries (UCM) provides students at the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee (UWM) an introduction to the Bible. Learning about people of faith in the Bible, students begin to explore how God’s presence can be experienced in their own lives. They begin to understand the foundation for Christian faith and the presence of God who journeys with them.  Sharing a free lunch together, students share their growing insight regarding the Bible and its place in the faith community.

The important program costs $5,000 per year.

  • $100 provides a free lunch for 20 students who want to know more about the Bible.
  • $50 will purchase Bible commentaries and study materials.
  • $35 will purchase a Study Bible for one student.
  • $10 supplies newsprint, markers, and other supplies for group discussion.

Students long to know what the Bible is and how it can make a difference in their lives. With your help, University Christian Ministries provides a basic introduction to the Bible in order to direct students on a path that leads to life.
