Rev. Alan McCalister
I enjoy helping people connect with God’s presence in life! That is why I serve as Campus Minister and Executive Director of UCM. My years in college were spent seeking to understand and experience God in a way that could make my faith come alive! A living faith – one that gives purpose to my life and direction for my living – is what I have found in Jesus Christ. My gift to others is simply to share what I have discovered, and to encourage and assist them in their own faith journey. If a living faith that transforms, re-forms and informs your life is something of interest to you, then come to UCM. It is never too late to start the journey!
Before coming to UCM, I spent many years working as a computer technician and serving congregations as an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). I play soccer, have a passion for music and movies, and like to tell really corny jokes! However, I am not joking when I say that I am deeply honored to serve with the students whose faith, heart-felt commitment, and hard work are the heart of this ministry. I love the feeling of family – of community – at UCM. I am moved by the deep caring and commitment of the students who follow and serve Jesus Christ. I hope you will come to UCM and let them touch your heart with the love they share in Jesus Christ!
“Hi everyone! My name is Pasua Chang. I am a third-year, undergraduate student, studying nutritional science at UWM. I am also the Administrative Assistant and Lunch Bunch coordinator, here at the UCM. I enjoy being a busy body and helping others, as it can leave big impacts on others, teach me many new things, or create connections that I can carry into the future. I also enjoy having time for myself, as I find that it can be quite restorative and relaxing. I am glad to be a part of UCM because of its faith-based foundation. If you have any questions or want to know more about what we do/what volunteer opportunities we have, or even how to get involved, you can contact me at email@example.com and I can answer you accordingly!”
“My name is Wesley Hines and I am currently a second year Junior student at UWM studying Actuarial Science. When I am not studying on my heavy workload I also spend time tutoring other students in mathematics, primarily Calculus 1-3. My main hobby is board games and video games, I enjoy the challenge that comes with the strategy behind them and trying to be the one who thinks the farthest ahead. Overall I’m excited to be with UWM as it will allow me to get more connected with the religious side of UWM and help with my own faith also.”
“My name is Kao Yang and I am currently a Ph.D. Candidate here at UWM in the Materials Science and Engineering Department. Aside from my busy school work, I find time to do photography. I enjoy shooting portrait and landscape photography. I also enjoy cooking new foods to try, traveling to new places to explore, and camping up north by lake Superior. I also love to volunteer and help out when I can, so I am always willing to lend a hand to help out with UCM.”
